Workshop Technician – Aerospace Component (All disciplines)

We are currently recruiting for workshop technicians in all disciplines based at our head office in Great Dunmow, Essex. This is a permanent position
The role will be to support the workshop production team, repair and overhaul aerospace components in either electronic, electrical, hydraulic or mechanical disciplines

Preferred Experience

Knowledge and understanding of basic engineering principles in chosen field

Experience repairing complex systems to component level

Experience using schematic and exploded parts diagrams

Good academic results with a minimum grade C or 4 GCSE in Mathematics and English or equivalent.

Recognised engineering qualification in chosen field

Literate and proficient in Microsoft Office

Able to produce accurate and neat maintenance records and to be able to read, write and understand English

Comfortable working with computers and software in general.

Proven track record of working to deadlines and have a positive and flexible approach to problem solving.

Good communication and organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.

Hardworking and conscientious approach to a career in aerospace engineering

Practical and theoretical engineering knowledge
Company systems knowledge, national and international regulations
Health and safety regulations and behaviour training

Future Prospects

Apprentices are professionally trained to become highly skilled in aircraft mechanical or electrical/avionics trades or electrical/avionics design engineers. Some apprentices go on to study for degrees and other professional engineering qualifications. All of our apprentices have the potential to become top engineering professionals at Skysmart.
